Jeroen Rijnhart (Netherlands, 1966) is director Centre of Expertise Water technology and member of the board of Watercampus Leeuwarden. After his study environmental engineering at Delft University of Technology, he started his career in water technology. He held various board positions in a stock listed international consultancy & engineering company, working for both private and public clients. He worked worldwide on water & sanitation projects. In 2014, he crossed the border to public knowledge institutes. In his current position, he and his colleagues are  working on interdisciplinary innovations and capacity building in water technology. Access to water & sanitation and cross overs between sectors, organizations and cultures.


Born in Cochabamba, Bolivia, Juan Carlos is a Production Engineer who graduated from the Universidad Privada Boliviana. From 2001 to 2016, he worked for Schlumberger in oil operations across the United States, Venezuela, Angola, South Africa, Tanzania, and Argentina. During this period, he specialized in operations management, product development, the introduction of new technologies, and project planning and management. This experience has been pivotal in the initiation, launch, and operation of AQUAKIT, a company founded with the vision of creating innovative and affordable technology for water conservation and life preservation. Currently, Juan Carlos leads a multidisciplinary team at AQUAKIT, and together they have implemented over 70 projects nationwide, achieving a savings of more than 70 million liters of potable water per year.


Sanitary and Environmental Engineer from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (Brazil). Holds a Master’s and Ph.D. in Sanitation, Environment and Water Resources from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (Brazil), with research on the feasibility of using adsorbents developed from steel and iron mining waste for biogas treatment and on the improvement of the siloxane characterization methodologies in biogas. Conducts research on topics related to anaerobic sewage treatment (UASB reactors), odor management in sewage treatment systems and biogas treatment aiming at its energy use. Participates in the review of the Brazilian standard NBR 16.560 for the sampling and analysis of siloxanes in biogas and biomethane. Partnership Coordinator at the Women in Biogas Network in Brazil. Research and Development Coordinator at Brandt Meio Ambiente and Óxido de Ferro Rio Acima.
