
Professor and Head of the Department of Hydraulics and Sanitation at the Federal University of Paraná. Environmental Engineer, Adjunct Professor, and Head of the Department of Hydraulics and Sanitation (DHS) at the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR), as well as a member of the Graduate Program in Water Resources and Environmental Engineering (PPGERHA). He holds a Master’s and PhD from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), with a research period at Delft University of Technology (TUD, Netherlands). His research specialization includes water and wastewater treatment, focusing on advanced physicochemical processes and oxidative technologies, as well as innovations in the use of air and ozone micro and nanobubbles (MNBs). He also conducts research on water reuse, sludge management, wastewater-based epidemiology, and health risk assessments. His recent relevant work includes the publication of scientific papers (H-index = 13), participation in the development of legislation – CERH/PR Resolution 122/2023 on water reuse in Paraná, the receipt of a public health award (ABES-2023), and a patent filing (INPI) in the field of nanotechnology (2022). Notably, he contributed to a pioneering water recycling study in Brazil, published in the “Guidelines for Water Reuse” (2012) by the US EPA.
