Patricio Díaz Romo is the LATAM Lead at Global Water Intelligence (GWI) and the 300 Water Leaders Group. Since 2023, he has been responsible for driving efforts to expand access to water and sanitation services (SDG 6) to 300 million additional people by 2030 across Latin America and the Caribbean. His focus is on promoting strategic partnerships with international development agencies and other key stakeholders. His work focuses on promoting infrastructure investment and facilitating high-level discussions with utility CEOs, government officials, and industry leaders to advance sustainable water solutions.
He holds a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from the London School of Economics, specialising in Economic Policy. Over the years, Patricio has led various initiatives in the region, working on policy analysis and promoting investment in the water sector. His experience also includes collaborating with the World Bank on research into fiscal impacts in Latin America. Before joining GWI, he worked at the Mexican Embassy in the UK and with Mexico’s Ministry of Social Development, where he managed large-scale infrastructure development projects.
